Welcome to my Dark Corner!

So, you have come to see what the fuss is all about, have you?  You’ve been seeing comments about this ‘R. Richardsson Guy’ and wanted to get a look for yourself?  Well then…  I am happy to extend my most heartfelt of welcomes and do ask that you come on in, get comfortable and be ready for the train wreck that is sure to come.

What’s that you say?  Oh.  *ahem*  I DID just say that, didn’t I?  Oh, I suppose you’re going to find out sooner or later then, so what could the harm possibly be?  Wait, don’t answer that, I already know.  It would be catastrophic to the most epic proportions, that’s how!  Yes indeed!  I might write something here that might get you really riled up!  I suppose it IS inevitable, but perhaps it doesn’t have to come to that.

You see…  All I want to accomplish, as I do from anything I write, is to better myself at what I consider myself to only be good at; my writing.

Okay, before someone gets a little ornery at that statement, I didn’t say I was only good at one thing there.  Look closer.  What I am saying is that I feel like I am only good at writing!

Oh, I have taken courses.  I excelled in English I & II.  I left all of my college writing courses with better than average grades.  I do know that I have ‘it’, that’s not the problem.  My problem is that I’m still an infant in this huge world of literacy.  I have yet to solidify something I hope to be known for; my genre, my style of writing, etc.

This blog is where I will hone the craft that I have begun to work with.  Very much like the hot iron that has been removed from the fire, I hope to temper my ability to manipulate words  until, much like the sword, it’s purpose will be fully realized.

I have had another blog in the recent past, a test blog, but I have since decided to use it only for displaying excerpts of my work, as well as the occasional surprise.  If you would like, you ‘could’ check it out at www.noland.blogspot.com, but I must warn you;  Once you have read the two story excerpts, some of my posts can be a bit crass.  You might even say they are ‘horrific’!

Yes, those were tested writings and I have since decided to stick with who I am and who I want to be, rather than…than that.  Again, not the story excerpts.  No, I AM proud of that.  It’s the rest that I tend to shy from.  Sure, I could simply erase it, but then this post wouldn’t make sense, would it?  I read somewhere that the writer will evolve into the author that he hopes to be, but he must first stumple over a few stones to get there.  If that’s true, looking back I can only think; “Man, oh man was I wrong!”

There’s a time a place for a certain way of talking and here in the public’s eyes isn’t it.

Here at The Dark Corner, I will be working hard(er) to write for any audience.  My posts will be designed to help you understand how I think, yes, but they will also be relevant to my past, current and future writings as well.  In some way or another, I will make it so.

Again, I thank you for stopping by.  You’re support is important to me and I hope that we can build a strong relationship together, as author and reader.

R. Richardsson
